Cultural Creative Development Program (CCDP)

The Cultural Creative Development Program (CCDP) is designed to facilitate First Nations artists in evolving their skills and gain professional development while staying true to Culture. The program, led by Birrunga Wiradyuri, a respected Wiradyuri Cultural practitioner and artist, is deeply rooted in Culture. With a commitment to Cultural preservation, the program is a holistic approach to artist development, blending time-honoured teachings with contemporary art practices. Since its establishment, the CCDP has transformed the careers of many Indigenous artists, helping them gain recognition in the art world while staying connected to their Cultural practices. The program supports the growth of First Nations business and entrepreneurship, providing a platform for artists to showcase their work in a professional environment.
The CCDP is a mentorship-driven initiative designed to support and uplift emerging First Nations artists. Blending individual guidance with collaborative opportunities, the program nurtures both creative and Cultural growth. Participants engage in Cultural mentoring with established Indigenous artists and Cultural practitioners, while developing their artistic skills through collaborative sessions and one-on-one exchanges. Artists receive professional development in areas such as exhibition preparation, sales, and personal branding. At its core, the CCDP values wellbeing and balance, incorporating group mentoring and physical activities to support both mental and physical health.
The program is a pathway to professional careers, empowering emerging creatives with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed in the arts industry. As part of his ongoing commitment to Cultural responsibility, Birrunga Wiradyuri works closely with each participant, ensuring that they not only develop their artistic skills but also honour their Cultural background. The program’s focus on community connection and collective growth fosters a sense of belonging and empowerment for Indigenous artists.
